The Indian Air Force (IAF) is preparing to host a spectacular air show in Guwahati on November 9, showcasing a wide range of aircraft and aerial maneuvers to engage the public and celebrate its legacy of courage and excellence.
The event will take place at Lachit Ghat along the banks of the Brahmaputra River, offering spectators a front-row view of the Indian Air Force’s strength and precision. Organised in coordination with the Government of Assam, the air show aims to inspire young minds to pursue careers in the armed forces and to foster greater public awareness about the IAF’s role in national defence.
According to officials, over 15 aircraft – including fighter jets, transport planes, and helicopters – will participate in the display. Visitors can expect thrilling aerobatic stunts, formation flying, and demonstrations highlighting the professionalism and advanced technology of the IAF.
Ahead of the main show, the IAF conducted a special preview event for students and invited guests, giving them a glimpse of the upcoming aerial spectacle. The preview received an enthusiastic response, with many students expressing admiration for the IAF pilots’ skill and precision.
The upcoming air show also marks a significant moment for the Northeast region, reflecting the IAF’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence and engagement with people across India’s frontier states.
Authorities have advised the public to arrive early to secure viewing spots, as large crowds are expected along the Brahmaputra riverfront. Entry to the event will be free of cost, and necessary traffic and security arrangements are being coordinated by local police and administration.
This air show is part of the IAF’s broader initiative to celebrate 93 years of service to the nation, promoting patriotism and showcasing India’s growing aerospace capabilities.
