IAF Conducts Emergency Landing Exercise In Andhra Pradesh

A police officer said that on Monday, the Indian Air Force showed that they could safely land an airplane in an emergency on the National Highway-16 near the town of Pichikalagudipadu.

As part of making the Indian Air Force (IAF) more ready for any situation, Bapatla SP Vakul Jindal said that two transport planes, the AN-32 and the Dornier, were used in the test.

“The practice landing came off well.” An AN-32 and a Dornier, two transport planes, just arrived.

As a wartime possibility, Jindal said, the 4.1 km-long emergency landing facility on the NH-16 will be open for use.

In order to make the practice possible, Bapatla district police redirected traffic on the highway from 7:30 am to 1 pm, twice in two hours, from 11 am to 1 pm.

As well as the Sukhoi Su-30, a few other fighter jets flew by the site without landing, according to the SP.
