Former Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria has been named the head of the Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor (UPDIC).
In a statement released Thursday, the state government said that Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria’s new job will help the UP Defense Industrial Corridor grow.
The project will be run by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), which is the main organisation in charge of it.
Aligarh, Agra, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Kanpur, and Lucknow are the six places that connect to the corridor.
On February 21, 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the 20,000 crore Defence Industrial Corridor project would be built in the Bundelkhand region. This is one of the poorest parts of the state.
A state government official said that the state government has given money to these kinds of groups that are willing to hire young people and train them for a year.
“The government will pay 10,000 per month per young person to industrial units that are willing to give a job and training for a year to a young person. “Each unit will be able to train up to 50 of these kinds of young people,” the official said.
The goal of the Defence Corridor project is to create more jobs in the drought-stricken Bundelkhand region. The state government has offered capital subsidies to industrialists who are willing to invest up to 10 crore there.
