Defence Ministry Waives Quality Assurance Charge To Make Indian Products More Competitive Globally

“In a big step toward change and making it easier to do business, the Department of Defence Production has gotten rid of Quality Assurance (QA) fees charged by QA agencies under its administrative control for goods that are going to be exported.

This industry-friendly plan from the Ministry of Defense would make defense goods more affordable on the global market.

Through its different proof and testing establishments, the Ministry of Defence helps the defense industry test and prove their goods. This makes Indian defense products more competitive on the international market.

The QA agencies charge fees based on fixed rates, and the industry adds these fees to the cost of the goods, which hurts the industry’s ability to compete on price. But now, these fees don’t exist anymore.
