Rajnath Singh, who is the Minister of Defence, gave his approval to a plan to change the way Authority Holding Sealed Particulars (AHSP) works in a way that is good for business. The AHSP is the organization in charge of making, keeping, updating, or getting rid of all the technical and historical information about defense goods.
So far, the AHSP for most defense items created, developed, and made by DPSUs and private industries has been the Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA). Under the current system, it was hard for the industry to make improvements to their goods and technologies quickly enough to keep up with the times.
So, the Defense Ministry has chosen to make the AHSP procedures more open and friendly to business.
Indian defense companies that have made their own products, systems, subsystems, and parts (except for key stores) will now be able to own their final designs and specifications as AHSP and be held accountable for them.
If any of the sealed details change, a decision will be made by a simple system that includes the industry and all the parties who have a role in the matter. Within two months, the DGQA will explain in full how this will be done.
Also, the DGQA has been asked to look at all AHSPs with them and make the whole list more logical within two months. They have also been told to give the AHSP to the business as soon as possible. It will be another big step that the government takes to make it easier for businesses to do business.
