On a two-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan led a high-level security meeting here, officials said on Friday.
They said that Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, who is in charge of the northern Army and is based in Udhampur, and Director General of Police Dilbag Singh were among the people who went to the meeting.
Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police for the Jammu zone, Lt. Gen. Sandeep Jain, the General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, which is based in Jammu, and Major General Gaurav Gautam, the General Officer Commanding of the 26 Infantry division, were also at the meeting, they said.
On the first day of his visit, the Chief of Defense Staff went to forward areas and hinterland formations in Kashmir. Field officers told him about the security situation there.
When General Chauhan arrived in Jammu this morning, he was met by Air Commodore G S Bhullar, who is in charge of the Air Force Station in Jammu.

Anil Chauhan arrived in Jammu. “The CDS led a high-level security meeting that was attended by the #ArmyCdrNC, DGP @JmuKmrPolice Shri Dilbag Singh, ADGP JKP, Lt Gen Sandeep Jain, GOC of 16 Corps and GOC of 26 Infantry Div,” tweeted A Bharat Bhushan Babu, the main spokesperson for the Defence Ministry.
Officials said that General Chauhan went to Nagrota cantonment and then went back to Delhi.
