Bharat Forge Gives Indian Army 16 Kalyani M4 Vehicles For UN Peacekeeping

Monday, defence company Bharat Forge Ltd said it sent 16 Kalyani M4 armoured personnel carrier vehicles to the Indian Army for use in UN peacekeeping missions.

The Kalyani M4 is a modern armoured personnel carrier that protects its passengers from high-level threats like mine blasts and grenades.

The vehicle can carry a platoon of infantry in full battle gear.

“Bharat Forge Ltd. sent 16 high-quality, made-in-India Kalyani M4 vehicles to the Indian Army today for use in UN peacekeeping,” the company said.

It said that Kalyani M4 had passed a series of extreme vehicle tests in some of India’s most difficult places.

The tests were done in the freezing Leh and Ladakh regions and the harsh Rann of Kutch desert.

Baba N. Kalyani, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd, spoke at the event. He said, “We are proud to be sending the Made-in-India Kalyani M4 to UN Peacekeeping missions.”

“This encourages us to work for the benefit of our armed forces, and it strengthens our resolve to use our Prime Minister’s vision for atmanirbharata and self-reliance in the defence sector,” he said.

Amit Kalyani, the Deputy Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd, added, “Keeping crew safety and vehicle performance as the most important factors, Kalyani M4 has been designed in an ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing way to help the crew do their jobs as well as possible.”

The Kalyani M4 has modern military-grade power terrain and always knows what’s going on around it.

The Indian Army’s northern command recently added the Kalyani M4 to its fleet of armoured vehicles, the company said. This was done as part of an emergency order.
