Army Chief Felicitates Actor Mohanlal, Honoring Him as Honorary Lieutenant Colonel

In a proud and historic moment, Bollywood and Malayalam cinema icon Mohanlal was honored by the Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, for his enduring association with the Indian Army. The actor, who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, received the prestigious COAS Commendation Card, a mark of appreciation for his dedication and service.

Mohanlal’s journey with the Indian Army began in 2009 when he was appointed an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel. Since then, he has actively participated in initiatives that bridge the gap between civilians and armed forces. His efforts during the Wayanad disaster relief in 2024 and ongoing support for army welfare projects have made him a respected figure both on and off the screen.

Apart from his military association, Mohanlal is widely recognized for his philanthropic work through the ViswaSanthi Foundation, which focuses on education, healthcare, skill development, and environmental conservation across India. The actor’s commitment to social causes complements his cinematic achievements spanning over four decades and 400 films.
