The inventories of medium and small-scale businesses and start-ups will compete with those of the major players in the defence manufacturing industry at the DefExpo in Gandhinagar starting on Tuesday. These products include a complete armoury solution, 9mm pistols, 5.56 mm assault rifles, and next-generation hemostatic bandages.
Raspian Enterprises’ 9mm pistols and 5.56 mm assault rifles, Almerio Defence and Aerospace LLP’s portable earth cover magazines, pre-engineered portable modular and baffling firing range, and containment box, as well as Axio Biosolutions Pvt Limited’s 100 percent chitosan shell dressing for soldiers, are just a few of the 25 Indian defence manufacturers whose names Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) has share in.
These exhibits would be a part of “Bandhan,” an event planned to foster business relationships and present start-ups and MSME’s cutting-edge technological solutions for the battlefield of the future.
To promote Atmanirbhartha in the defence industry and attempt to make the products globally competitive in terms of quality, over 400 MOUs will be announced at the DefExpo, according to Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar.
Novel products

AVNL MoU
With defence PSU Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL), one of the more significant businesses, Ashok Leyland, will sign MOUs for the provision of mobility kits for Mine Protected Vehicle (MPV) 6×6. For MPV 4×4, the Company has been active.
According to Col. Rajneesh Kacker (Retired), Head Defence Marketing, Sales & After Marketing of Ashok Leyland, “The mobility solution, which comprises engines of the MPV 6×6 will be supplied by us, while the structure is manufactured by the Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, which is under AVNL.”
According to another MOU, Ashok Leyland Defence Systems Ltd. will provide transmission systems for Russian-made T-72 and T-90 tanks.
