Aero India 2023 will take place in the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore, India, from February 13th to the 17th. The centrepiece of the “India Pavilion” will be a full-scale LCA Tejas aircraft in Final Operational Clearance (FOC) form.
A release from the Ministry of Defence on Thursday said that the 14th Edition of the biennial aero show and aviation exhibition will have a separate “India Pavilion” based on the theme “Fixed Wing Platform” to show India’s progress in the fixed wing area and its plans for the future in the field.
The India Pavilion will also show how India has grown in creating an eco-system for fixed-wing platforms. This will be done by showing different structural modules, simulators, and systems of LCA Tejas aircraft made by private partners, among other things.
There will also be a section on “Defense space, New Technologies” and a section on “UAVs” (unmanned aerial vehicles), which will show how India has grown in each sector.
The LCA Tejas is a multi-role, supersonic fighter with a single engine that is light and very agile. It has a digital fly-by-wire Flight Control System (FCS) with advanced flight control laws.
The delta-winged plane is made for “air combat” and “offensive air support.” Its other roles are “reconnaissance” and “anti-ship.” “Advanced composites are widely used in the airframe, which gives it a high strength-to-weight ratio, a long fatigue life, and a low radar signature,” said the release.
Tejas has cutting-edge features like a glass cockpit, a zero-zero ejection seat, an in-flight refuelling probe, and a jam-proof AESA Radar, which make the plane “more lethal,” according to the report.
LCA has come a long way in its development, and it is now available as both a fighter and a two-seater for the Air Force and a fighter and two-seater for the Navy. Other versions of the LCA Tejas are being made, like the LCA LIFT (Lead in fighter trainer) and the MK-2.
It was pointed out that Aero India gives aerospace and defence companies from all over the world a place to show off their advanced products and skills and look for business opportunities.
