India’s Secret Laser Weapon: Durga-2

Meet the futuristic  "Ray-Gun" that could change Indian warfare forever.

DURGA stands for Directionally Unrestricted Ray-Gun Array. It’s a 100kW Directed Energy Weapon developed by DRDO.

The "Ray-Gun" Array

Unlike missiles, Durga-2 uses a concentrated beam of light to burn through targets.

How Does It Work?

While traditional interceptors cost lakhs, a laser shot costs only as much as the electricity used.

Why It is a Gamechanger?

The current prototype is designed for 100kW, capable of neutralising drones, helicopters, and even cruise missiles.

Massive 100kW Output

In modern warfare, cheap drones are a major threat. Durga-2 can switch between targets in milliseconds, making it perfect against swarms.

The Drone Swarm Killer

Laser weapons can be affected by heavy rain, fog, or dust. DRDO is working on advanced optics to maintain beam focus in all conditions.

All-Weather Capability

Durga-2 is being designed for Navy- To protect ships from anti-ship missiles. Army- Mobile units for border protection. Air Force- For airbase defence.

Deployment Plans

With Durga-2, India joins a small group of nations (like the US and Israel) with advanced laser weapon technology.
