Naxal Attack In Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada: 11 Security Personnel Killed

In Dantewada, Chhattisgarh, on April 26, Naxal insurgents used an improvised explosive device (IED) to kill 11 people, including 10 security officers.

Ten of the dead were members of the Chhattisgarh police’s District Reserve Guard (DRG), a special team that fights left-wing extremists in counter-insurgency operations. In the attack, the unit’s driver was also killed, bringing the total number of deaths to 11.

According to what Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said, the attack on the security staff happened in the Aranpur police station area of Dantewada. He said that the jawans who died were in the area for an anti-Naxal action.

“It’s very sad to hear that 10 DRG soldiers and a driver were killed in an anti-Naxal operation after being told that Maoist leaders were in the Aranpur police station area of Dantewada. We feel sad for their families. “May their soul rest in peace,” tweeted Baghel.

Baghel told reporters in Raipur that those who did the attack would be punished quickly. “This fight is coming to an end. He said that the Naxals would not be saved.

Shortly after the attack was reported, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called the chief minister and told him that the Centre would do everything it could to help fight the Naxal rebels.

In parts of central and eastern India, you can find Naxals, who are also called Maoist rebels. The Dantewada and Bastar areas of Chhattisgarh were thought to be their bases. The group, which says it is working for the tribes and poorest people in the country, has killed hundreds of security workers over the past 60 years.
